The approach
The key to KMC's innovative design is installing the large new cargo door forward of the wing. The forward door eliminates structural weight that is required for an aft door, simplifies cargo handling and provides safer and more spacious ground handling and logistics. We replace floor beams to increase floor area loads and running loads but not the aircraft's OEW. KMC's straightforward approach streamlines the path to certification.
